 बेतला पार्क की आत्मकथा   (भाग -2)

 1974 पलामू टाइगर रिजर्व अस्तित्व में आया। उस समय केवल पलामू ही नहीं बल्कि  भारत में नौ टाइगर रिजर्व बनाया गया। पलामू टाइगर प्रोजेक्ट के लिए 1026 वर्ग किलोमीटर का क्षेत्र आरक्षित किया गया । यह मेरे लिए गौरव की बात ही थी कि किसी टाइगर रिजर्व के क्षेत्र में 226 वर्ग किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में मेरा एरिया बांट दिया गया। जिस समय पलामू टाइगर रिजर्व बना उस समय भी 50 से अधिक  बाघ  थे ।अकेले मेरे एरिया में ( बेतला )7 बाघ थे। सैलानियों के लिए तब मैं बेतला नेशनल पार्क नहीं बल्कि पलामू सेंचुरी के नाम से  जाना जाता था । पलामू सेंचुरी नाम का प्रचार प्रसार होने के बाद बड़ी संख्या में सैलानी मुझे देखने के लिए आने लगे।  मेरी खूबसूरती निहारते थे। तत्कालीन वनकर्मियों के ईमानदारी व मेहनत के कारण मैं  स्वयं को सुरक्षित महसूस करने लगा। हालांकि उस दौर में भी वन माफियाओं की बूरी नजर मेरे ऊपर थी। 1980 के बाद मेरे ऊपर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया, क्योंकि अब मैं बेतला नेशनल पार्क के रूप में जाना जाने लगा था। देश के पटल पर मेरी गिनती होने लगी थी ।सरकार की नजर में  विशेष पहचान बनाने में मैं कामयाब रहा ।देश के कोने-कोने से सेलानी आने लगे। विदेशी भी मेरी खूबसूरती के लिए आने लगे। सैलानी बाघ, हाथी, सांभर, तेंदुआ, हायना, खरगोश ,हिरण सहित अन्य दुर्लभ जानवरों को देखकर खुश होने लगे।मैं ऋणी हूं सबसे अधिक पश्चिम बंगाल के सैलानियों का। क्योंकि मुझे याद है मेरी खूबसूरती को निहारने के लिए सबसे अधिक अगर कहीं के सैलानी आए हैं तो वह पश्चिम बंगाल के ही हैं। कोलकाता तब कलकता के हजारों सैलानी मेरे आंगन में प्रकृति के हसीन वादियों का नजारा लेने के लिए और अपने दोस्तों रिश्तेदारों के साथ मौज-मस्ती के लिए आते थे। इस बात का पता आप मेरे यहां आकर भी लगा सकते हैं। कि यहां के अधिकांश लोग बंगाली को अच्छी तरह से समझ लेते हैं और बोल लेते हैं। सैलानियों के ठहराव के लिए बड़े-बड़े होटल बनाए गए।लेकिन वन माफियाओं का नजर मेरे ऊपर टिका हुआ था। 1980  से लेकर 1990 तक का समय मेरे लिए स्वर्णिम रहा। इस समय में अपनी समृद्धि पर इतरा रहा था। मुझे खुशी होती थी ,कि जो कोई भी लोग यहां मुझे देखने के लिए आता था वह यहीं का होकर रह जाता था ।उसका दिल यहीं पर रुक जाता था ।अपने लोगो के साथ आये सैलानियों को काफी सुकून मिलता था ।सैलानी स्वयं को सुरक्षित महसूस करते थे । रफी साहब का गीत गाते रहते थे- दिल कहे रुक जा रे रुक जा ,यहीं पर कहीं जो बात है यहां वो कहीं पर नहीं...

Only in my area (Betla) there were 7 tigers.  For tourists, I was known as Palamu Century but not Betla National Park.  After the promotion of the name Palamu Century, a large number of tourists started coming to see me.  Used to admire my beauty.  Due to the honesty and hard work of erstwhile forest workers, I started feeling safe.  However, in those times, the forest mafia had a bad eye on me.  After 1980, special attention was paid to me, as I now came to be known as Betla National Park.  I was counted on the table of the country. In the eyes of the government, I was able to create a special identity. Selani started coming from every corner of the country.  Foreigners also started coming for my beauty.  The tourists are happy to see other rare animals including tiger, elephant, sambar, leopard, hyena, rabbit, deer. I am most indebted to the tourists of West Bengal.  Because I remember that most of the tourists have come from West Bengal to see my beauty.  Calcutta then thousands of Calcutta tourists came to my courtyard to take a look at the beautiful lovers of nature and to have fun with their friends and relatives.  You can find out about this by coming here.  That most of the people here understand and speak Bengali well.  Large hotels were built to accommodate tourists, but the forest mafia was eyeing me.  The period from 1980 to 1990 was golden for me.  At this time, his prosperity was waiting.  I used to feel happy that whoever used to come here to see me would stay here. His heart stopped here. The tourists who came with their people were very relaxed.  Used to do  Rafi used to sing the song of Saheb - Dil kahe rook rook ja re rook ja, whatever is the matter here, it is not anywhere ...
