आत्म कथा -भाग 19

रानी के चारों बच्चे अब पूरी तरह से व्यस्क हो गए थे।

उनमें से शेरा व बंटी नर थे जबकि बॉबी और बबली मादा थे। चारों अपने क्षेत्र (टेरिटरी) में रहने के लिए अपनी मां से  विदा होते गए। उनका बिछड़ना मुझे अच्छा नहीं लग रहा था ।लेकिन इतने सारे बाघों को एक जगह रखा भी नहीं जा सकता था ।प्रकृति के नियमानुसार बाघ अपने टेरिटरी में जाने को तैयार हो गए। उनमें से शेरा सतबरवा के जंगलों की ओर चला गया। बहुत दिनों तक उसका लोकेशन धमधमवा के आसपास में देखा गया ।क्योंकि धमधमवा आस-पास के गांव में पालतू पशुओं के मारे जाने की सूचना मिलती रही। उसका ट्रेसिंग भी वन विभाग को मिलता रहा। बंटी मनिका के जंगलों में चला गया ।वह वहीं पर रहने लगा।  उसका भी बहुत दिनों तक लोकेशन वन विभाग को मिलता रहा। बाघिन बॉबी सैदुप के जंगलों में और बबली कुटकू(मंडल) के जंगलों में चली गई। जहां बहुत दिनों तक लोकेशन मिलता रहा। इस तरह से रानी अब फिर से अकेली हो गई थी। लेकिन उसका मेरे आंगन से मोह भंग नहीं हुआ था ।उसने फैसला कर लिया था कि वह अपने जीवन के अंतिम क्षण को मेरे ही आंगन में गुजारेगी ।और ऐसा उसने किया भी। वह काफी दिनों तक पर्यटकों को दिखती रही। ग्रामीण भी उसे कई बार देखते रहे। वह बार-बार दिखी।स्थानीय लोगों ने उसका नाम रानी के साथ साथ बेगम रख दिया ।अब लोग उसे बेगम के नाम से भी जानने लगे थे। उसकी उम्र ढलान की ओर थी। इसीलिए दौड़कर शिकार करना उसके लिए  मुश्किल हो गया था। इसलिए गांव की ओर रुख करती थी। या जंगल से सटे गांव में आसपास के मवेशी चरने जाते थे तो उन्हें अपना शिकार बना लेती थी ।क्योंकि ऐसा करना  उसके लिए आसान होता था । पलामू किला के पास वह स्थाई रूप से निवास करने लगी ।बहुत दिनों तक उसका लोकेशन उस क्षेत्र में मिलता रहा। और ...सन 1993 में बरसात का मौसम ... बारिश हो रही थी ...इसी बीच वन विभाग के पदाधिकारियों को यह सूचना दी गई कि बेतला के बैगा पानी के पास जो वाटर होल है वहां पर एक बाघ मृत पड़ा है...रात्रि का समय हो गया था...विभाग के पदाधिकारी दल बल के साथ वहां पहुंचे ...उन्होंने देखा वह मृत पड़ी बाघिन कोई और नहीं बल्कि बेगम ही थी जिसने इस दुनिया को अलविदा कह दिया था...contd.

All the four children of the queen were now fully grown.

 Among them, Shera and Bunty were male while Bobby and Bubbly were female.  The four departed from their mother to live in their territory.  I did not like to spread them. But so many tigers could not be kept in one place. According to the rules of nature, tigers agreed to go to their territory.  Among them Shera went towards the forests of Satbarwa.  For a long time, his location was seen in the vicinity of Dhamdhamwa. As Dhamdhamwa was reported to have killed pets in the nearby village.  Its tracing was also available to the forest department.  Bunty went to the forest of Manika. He resided there.  The forest department kept getting its location for a long time.  The tigress went into the jungles of Bobby Saidup and Babli to the forests of Kutku (Mandal).  Where the location was found for many days.  In this way the queen was now single again.  But she was not disturbed by my courtyard. She had decided that she would spend the last moments of her life in my own courtyard. And she did.  She was visible to tourists for a long time.  The villagers also kept watching him many times.  She appeared again and again and the local people named her as Begum along with Rani. Now people started to know her as Begum too.  His age was towards the slope.  That is why it became difficult for him to run and hunt.  So she used to go towards the village.  Or the surrounding cattle in the village adjacent to the forest used to graze, making them their prey because it was easy for them to do so.  She started to live permanently near Palamu Fort. Her location continued to be found in that area for many days.  And ... In the year 1993, it was raining ... It was raining ... Meanwhile, the forest department officials were informed that a tiger is lying dead near the Baiga water of Betla.  It was night time ... Department officials arrived there with a force ... They saw that the dead tigress was none other than Begum who had said goodbye to this world ... contd.
