 आत्म कथा -भाग 14

बिजली करंट की चपेट में आने से हुई थी हिरण की मौत

मैं आपको यह बता रहा था कि मेरे जंगल और जानवर को बचाने के लिए समय-समय पर आदेश निकाले जाते रहे। उनमें कई ऐसे आदेश थे जो बेहद जरूरी थे। लेकिन कुछ ऐसे आदेश भी थे जो समझ से परे थे । उन आदेशों का खामियाजा मुझे भुगतना पड़ा।जब हाथियों का झुंड आस-पास के गांव में जाने लगे और किसानों के फसल को चट कर जाने लगे तो तत्कालीन पदाधिकारी के द्वारा यह आदेश जारी किया गया कि पार्क परिसर की घेराबंदी लोहे के तार से की जाएगी। रात्रि में उससे बिजली करंट प्रवाहित कराई जाएगी। ताकि जब हाथी बाहर निकलना चाहे तो करंट का झटका के कारण वापस लौटकर जंगल चले जाएं। मुझे अच्छी तरह से याद है हाथी बाहर जाने से तो नहीं रुके उल्टा हिरन करंट की चपेट में आने से मर गए। ऐसी घटना होने पर तुरंत तार से बिजली प्रवाहित करने का आदेश वापस ले लिया गया।

जब धूल खा कर वापस लौटते थे सैलानी

एक बार यह आदेश निकाला गया कि पार्क में एक ही साथ में 15 से 20 गाड़ी जाएंगे। आदेश का अनुपालन शुरू हुआ पार्क के भीतर एक साथ अधिक गाड़ी घुसने लगे। परिणाम यह हुआ कि पर्यटकों को बंदर भी नहीं दिखने लगा। अधिक वाहनों के अंदर घुसने के कारण जंगली जानवर रोड छोड़कर बगल की झाड़ी में छिप जाते थे। धूल खाकर बाहर निकले पर्यटक मुझे कोसते हुए घर वापस लौटते थे। बाद में इस आदेश को वापस ले लिया गया।

लाखों रुपए के लगाए गए सोलर प्लेट

 बेतला पार्क में जो सैलानी आते थे उन्हें बिजली नहीं रहने के कारण काफी परेशानी होती थी ।आदेश पारित किया गया कि सोलर प्लेट लगाया जाएगा और उससे प्राप्त होने वाली बिजली  से सभी रेस्ट हाउस में रोशनी कराई जाएगी। लाखो रुपए का प्रोजेक्ट तैयार किया गया। सोलर प्लेट लगाए गए। कुछ दिन सब ठीक-ठाक रहा ।लेकिन फिर सोलर प्लेट खोल दिए गए।

जब तेंदुआ बना आदमखोर

एक बार एक तेंदुआ को पकड़ा गया ।आदेश निकाला गया कि उसे बड़े पिंजरे में रखा जाएगा। ताकि कुछ लोग जो बेतला आते हैं वह आसानी से देख सकें। उसे खाने के लिए रोज एक बकरी का बच्चा को दिया जाता था। कुछ दिन सब कुछ ठीक-ठाक चलता रहा पिंजरे में बंद तेंदुआ को लोग देखकर काफी खुश हो रहे थे।एक बार पिंजरे का गेट खुला रह गया। गर्मी का मौसम था। एक महिला जो लाल रंग के कपड़े पहने थी ,महुआ चुन रही थी। वह तेंदुआ बाहर निकल गया और उस महिला पर हमला कर दिया। उसके गर्दन को फोड़ डाला। उसके जिस्म को नोच नोंच कर खा गया। बड़ा ही दर्दनाक घटना था।किसी तरह से फिर तेंदुआ को पकड़ा गया। आदेश निकाला गया कि अब किसी भी जानवर को पिंजरे में नहीं रखा जाएगा... जारी...

Deer died due to lightning current

 I was telling you that orders were taken from time to time to save my forest and animal.  There were many orders among them which were very important.  But there were also some orders that were beyond comprehension.  I had to bear the brunt of those orders. When the herd of elephants started going to the nearby village and the farmers started chopping the crop, the order was issued by the then officer that the park complex would be sieged with iron wire.  .  At night, electric current will be provided from it.  So that when the elephant wants to come out, due to the shock of the current, return and go to the forest.  I remember well that the elephant did not stop going out and the reindeer died because of the current.  When such an incident occurred, the order to immediately conduct electricity from the wire was withdrawn.

 When the tourists returned after eating dust

 Once the order was taken out that 15 to 20 vehicles would go to the park simultaneously.  Compliance with the order began with more vehicles entering the park simultaneously.  As a result, the monkeys did not even see the tourists.  Wild animals used to leave the road and hide in the adjacent bush as more vehicles entered.  The tourists who came out from the dust used to curse me and return home.  This order was later withdrawn.

 Solar plates worth millions of rupees

 The tourists who used to come to Betla Park had a lot of trouble due to lack of electricity. The order was passed that a solar plate would be installed and the electricity received from it would be illuminated in all rest houses.  Lakhs of rupees project was prepared.  Solar plates were installed.  Everything went well for a few days. But then the solar plates were opened.

 When leopard became man-eating

 Once a leopard was caught, the order was taken that he be kept in a large cage.  So that some people who come to Betla can easily see.  He was given a goat to feed every day.  Some days everything was going well, people were quite happy to see the leopard in the cage. Once the cage gate was open.  It was summer.  A woman who was dressed in red was choosing mahua.  The leopard rushed out and attacked the woman.  Torn his neck.  Scrapped his body and ate it.  It was a very traumatic event. Somehow the leopard was caught again.  Order removed that no animals will be kept in the cage anymore ...
