"Betla National Park" This is the only national park in Jharkhand. This is the pride of Jharkhand. It is located in Latehar district of Palamu division of Chota Nagpur plateau. Lots of wildlife are found in this park. Betla itself is named after the wildlife. BETLA means, B-: Bison, E-: Elephant, T-: Tiger, L-: Leopard, A-: Axis-Axis (deer). This park is popular for tigers. It is a part of the Palamu Byghar project. The area of Palamu Byghar project is 1026 km². Apart from this, an area of 226 km² has been added in 1989 and an area of 63km² is that of Mahuadand Wolf Sanctuary. Betla was one of the first to run the first project. The park is managed by the Forest Department.
